With a tiny budget intended to fight graffiti, we remodeled a rundown city building by applying half-rounds of inexpensive fence posts to the buildings exterior. The half-timber design incorporates the ramshackle geometry of the buildings existing doors and windows to establish a new architectural rhythm. The resulting wood frames are filled with flat colors and illustrations. Sponsored by the Luggage Store Gallery, 1997.
