young artists travel into the future
A ten week artist residency at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts to collaborate in a visual arts project with a group of public high school students. The resulting art installation is a "Museum of the Future" featuring sculpture, video, artifacts and text from an imagined world of the year 3000. The young artists are challenged to articulate their hopes and fears about the future while exploring science fiction themes and iconography from popular culture, 2000.

As part of the project the Young Artists make life masks and write a MISSION STATEMENT about their journey into the year 3000.
